President : Gregory Fink

Co Founder and Executive Director

Coach Greg played High School Soccer in 2 different states. His 1st and 2nd year was played in Londonderry, NH under the guidance of his Coach Tony Lepore. Coach Lepore is currently the Director of Scouting for the United States Soccer Federation. After Coach Greg's 2nd year, his family moved to Pittsburgh, PA where he played his 3rd and 4th year for Upper St. Clair High School in Western PA where his team went on to become State Champions in 1996. Coach Greg went on to play 4 years of Division 1 College Soccer at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA from 1998 to 2001 where he went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Elementary / Special Education. After College, Coach Greg went on to become a New York City Police Officer. He joined the NYPD Soccer Team in 2002 which he currently co directs and continues to play domestically and internationally to promote good community relations. 

 

Coach Greg has been operating International Soccer Goodwill Tours for the past 15 years for both the NYPD Soccer Team and Youth Teams in various parts of the world. Coach Greg has had the honor of playing Soccer competitively while doing Goodwill Soccer work in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, The Bahamas, Haiti, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and England. Coach Greg currently holds the USSF C License, United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Futsal Diploma, and the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping 1 Diploma. Coach Greg is also CPR/AED certified. Coach Greg is a current member of the United Soccer Coaches Organization and was selected to be part of the USSF Voice Committee. Coach Greg is also currently on the Board of Directors for Southampton Town United Soccer Club.

Vice President : Douglas Fink

Co Founder and Director

Coach Doug played High School Soccer in Londonderry, NH under the guidance of Coach Tony Lepore. Coach Lepore is currently the Director of Scouting for the United States Soccer Federation. Coach Fink Captained the team his Senior year which they went on to win the State Championship. During his high school playing days, Coach Fink was selected to represent NH in the annual Lions Cup Game featuring the top seniors from NH vs VT. Coach Doug was also selected as part of the Northeast All Stars Soccer Tour where he traveled to England and Wales to play against elite youth teams including Chelsea F.C.

 

Coach Doug went on to play 4 years of Division 1 Soccer at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA from 1996 to 1999 where he also obtained a Master's Degree in Secondary Education. He has Coached the Bethel Park, PA High School Varsity Boys Team for the past 15 seasons and has won numerous Western PA Championships. Under his guidance, numerous youth players have went on to play at top Collegiate Programs around the country. Coach Doug also currently helps Coach with Beadling Soccer Club in Western PA.

Director of Coaching / Technical Director : Andreas Lindberg

Coach Andreas is the owner and co-founder of Colonial Sports Group, the professional group of trainers that South Fork United uses for all Soccer Operations. A native of Malmo, Sweden, Andreas has been coaching youth soccer for over 20 years in New York. Coach Andreas is currently the Head Coach of the Seton Hall University, Division 1 College Men's team. Prior to Seton Hall, Coach Andreas coached at LIU Post Division II where he earned the ECC Coach of the Year Award 6 times. He also earned the United Soccer Coaches East Region Coach of the Year award 3 times. In addition to his success in Coaching College.

 

Coach Andreas has a strong background in the professional and academy ranks. From 2006-07 he was the head coach and general manager of the New York Hampton Surf, a professional indoor soccer club and member of the American Indoor Soccer League (AISL). Coach Andreas coached the Met Oval Development Academy in Brooklyn from 2007-10, training 15-18 year olds in the USSF Development Academy system. During his time in Brooklyn, three of his players were selected for U.S. National team training camps. Coach Andreas also served as the head coach of the Brooklyn Knights of the USL Premier Development League for the 2012 season, guiding the Knights to a four-win improvement from the prior campaign. Coach Andreas currently posses the USSF "A" License, the United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching Diploma and the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma. Coach Andreas also earned a Master's in Business Administration from Long Island University.

Player Pathway Director: Marco DaFonte

Director and College Placement Advisor

Coach Marco played throughout his entire childhood competing at a high level during his teenage years. As an individual player, he was selected for the Eastern New York ODP Team (top 18 in Eastern NYS) and part of the Regional Pool (top 36 in Northeast Region). From 2003 - '07 Coach Marco pursued his college career at Long Island University Post. While at LIU Post, he was a two-year captain and lead the team to the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2006. After graduating in 2007, he started a business (andGO Sports) that assists domestic and international high school student-athletes and their families through the college athletic recruiting process. andGO Sports has further seen there clients go on to play professional soccer in the MLS, with some clients even getting drafted in the top 10. The same year he began andGO Sports, he was offered the Boys Varsity Soccer coaching position at Wheatley High School. While coaching at Wheatley from 2007 - '11, he guided his teams to two Nassau County Championships ('09 & '11), Long Island Championship ('11) and a New York State Finals ('11). In 2008 he started a youth soccer club "Mineola Portuguese Soccer Club (MPSC)" and served as President and Director of Coaching for eight years (2008 - '16). During his time at MPSC, he grew the club to 400+ members and was voted Top Soccer Club on Long Island by Bethpage Best of Long Island in 2015.

In January 2018, Coach Marco was chosen to be South Fork United's 1st Coach, leading the Boys 2007 Pilot Program. Coach Marco remains an owner of andGO Sports and is as committed as ever to helping young athletes domestically and abroad with navigating the player pathway.

Senior Coach / Advisor: Bob Montgomery

Coach Montgomery brings his professional coaching career and many years of experience in all aspects of Soccer to South Fork United. Coach Montgomery most recently retired from serving as the Professional Academy Director, Director of Coaching Education and Youth Partnerships with the New York Red Bulls Professional Team. Prior to working 11 years with the New York Red Bulls, Coach Montgomery also coached the Adelphi Panthers Division 1 Men's College Team for 29 years including 7 trips to the NCAA Tournament. Coach Montgomery also coached the Under 14 US National Team and the Olympic Development Regional 1 Team. We are grateful for Coach Montgomery's life of dedication to the game of Soccer and now to South Fork United.

Goalkeeper Coach: Carlos Barahona

Coach Carlos who was born in Bugalagrande, Colombia, joins us after having a wonderful professional career playing in South America. Coach Carlos played Internationally for the Colombia National Team Under 19 and Under 21 squads. Coach Carlos professional career also included playing in the Professional 1st Division in Colombia and Bolivia for teams such as Atletico Nacional, Tulua, Deportivo Pasto, Envigado and San Jose in Bolivia. Coach Carlos made numerous starts in the Copa Libertadores with teams in both Colombia and Bolivia. Coach Carlos currently is a goalkeeper coach for Stony Brook University Division 1 Team.
